Real-life hover bike brings Star Wars tech one step closer
Watch out swamp rats – THIS hi-tech bike allows riders to zoom along Star Wars-style – floating above the ground.
A video released by Californian manufacturer Aerofex shows their device hovering above a dry lake bed in the Mojave desert.
And while it is initially steadied by two workers as its two rotors lift it into the air, later clips show the bike flying unaided.
The craft is steered by the rider leaning from side to side – just like a standard motorcycle.
And the company say the secret of the amazing creation is their ducted fan technologies, replacing traditional cyclically-variable rotors.
But sadly the company say they have no plans to market their technology for riders – instead planning to create unmanned drones.
On their website they suggest that their crafts could be used for securing national borders, saying: “Think of the advantages of patrolling borders without first constructing roads.”

It’s sooooo beautiful.
OMG. Star Wars draws a step closer.
Can it fly over bodies of water? A lake, a river, calm ocean water?
Amazing, really wanna see more of this and how it finally gets developed!
They definitely shouldn’t let Asians and women drive this thing. Wrecks all over the place.
Sweet ride
