HP’s new viral campaign ‘Killer Sounds’, highlights the amazing 3D surround sound for their HP Envy laptop range.

It kicks off with a great visual and audio demonstation featuring the top UK band ‘Plan B’

“I? love Ben Drew, he looks like he’s an East? End heavy who you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley, and then he sings with the voice of an angel. It’s a paradox in motion. Also the music sounds like it is being performed in your left ear, then the right, then in front & behind you, it’s all over the place with this new Beats Audio technology. Amazing. What next, let me guess, a cat playing a piano….*Wait!?”

The Beats Solo folding headphones bundled in the large, impressive packing box are worthy of note, if only for the sheer chutzpah that the Beats marketing team has built up for them.

The Beats brand, we’re told, is a collaboration between rapper/producer Dr Dre (aka, Andre Romelle Young), record producer and Interscope-Geffen chairman Jimmy Iovine, and US hi-fi wire brand Monster Cable. The result is an urban-music image slant, and a sound that veers somewhat from tonal accuracy.

“With Beats™, people are going to hear what the artists hear, and listen to the music the way they should: the way I do” says Dr Dre™, the man behind the badge.

Rap, rock, punk, pop: whichever you prefer, the ENVY 14 series with Beats Audio will make you feel like you’re in the studio, front row, or back stage, and let you hear the music as each artist intended. You’ll get reliable performance plus DJ tools.

It all makes for one very cool viral video.
