HP takes bold steps to boost PC market with 10.4 mm thin spectre laptop. To help capitalize on the computer market dominated by Apple, HP released a premium ‘Spectre’ laptop that’s just 10.4 millimeters thin.

The company, with it’s revived branding from 2011, collaborated with dutch designer Tord Boontje and jeweler Jess Hannah, for limited edition collection that features an intersection of high-end art and leading technology.

Looking beyond metals, the ‘spectre’ has a carbon fiber bottom to create a thin profile that is both durable and lightweight, keeping the total weight to just 1.1 kilograms. High gloss copper accents reflect a hand-polished, jewelry-like finish and an inventive hidden piston hinge creates the illusion of a hinge-less design.

An hybrid battery split into two thinner pieces delivers the same wattage as a single battery for up to nine and half hours of battery life, while still staying thin. The 13.3 inch, 15.6 inch or 17.3 inch displays include a full HD edge-to-edge screen powered by a sixth generation intel core ‘i5’ or ‘i7’ processors with options of up to 512 GB SSD storage.

HP also asked Bang & Olufsen to incorporate stereo speakers. to finish of the design, HP packed three USB ‘type-c’ ports, including two that support ‘Thunderbolt’ connectivity.
